So…comics aren’t REALLY my thing. And I’m kind of sitting here, writing and re-writing the same intro. The topic feels foreign and unnatural to me…it’s like writing a term paper.
BUT…I think people who have talent and passion and ambition DESERVE ATTENTION! YES! Even…..if you are married but separated from them and going to counseling to try to work some shit out!
My husband (Ronald Wybraniec) is a darn good colorist and his best friend (Chris Campana) is a darn-tootin’ good artist and if those names sound familiar to you… Then when I drop the name of their last book, it all might click…..KANTARA.
Sound familiar? Yes? No?
Just under two years ago, their company, Wyrlwynd, created and successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign that allowed them to publish issue #1 of Kantara and “shop it around” via comic book conventions, social media outlets, and perhaps most excitingly, on the I Sell Comics podcast that is hosted by Ming Chen and Mike Zapcic.
Several issues have been published (I READ ISSUE ONE, COME ON THAT’S REALLY GOOD OF ME) and I’m happy to share some good news with you… You can’t suppress creative minds!
Chris and Ron will be on the I Sell Comics podcast TODAY! Check it out HERE.
They have another Kickstarter campaign going for their new book, First World!
Here’s what Ron sent me in an email (I asked him to give me SUPER details since it’s difficult for me to write about something I don’t know much about!) The Show goes live at 2:15 EST and you can live tweet me, Chris, or Mike Zapcic and Ming Chen.
Now check out this awesome Kickstarter video about First World and tell me you’re not licking your lips… Tell me you’re not sitting there thinking, “DAMN, I NEED TO FUND THAT NOW.”
Find out more about First World and fund it HERE. They’re almost at goal, BUT…every little bit helps. That’s the key to a successful Kickstarter—they need your help!
Now many of you don’t know this, but I have a slight obsession with Ming Chen. And since it’s THURSDAY, how about a little THROWBACK THURSDAY. Check this text out….from the NY ComicCon 2013.
I don’t have a Kickstarter but I’m tossin’ a few comic book ideas around of my own. What do you think?
AND PLEASE TELL KEVIN SMITH THAT I SAID “HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”
I HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM TOO. :::swoon:::
